Appearance
Bargos is a young Hutt, at approximately 300 years old he is still considered a young adult by Hutt standards. He is also fairly inexperienced as a crime boss, although his reputation as someone who is not to be crossed is growing quickly. At 3 metres tall, Bargos is a rather odd-looking Hutt; he is long and lithe (relatively speaking) and exceptionally slimy. His skin is a pale green color, patterned with mottled bands of dark grey. His left eye and much of the left side of his face have been badly maimed, twisted into a lumpy mass of gastropod scar tissue, the remnants of a failed attempt on his life. He seldom leaves the safety of his mansion and is surrounded by his court of most loyal and obedient servants.
Biography
Origins
Bargos the Hutt is a middling crime lord on the Outer Rim who fell on troubling times.
Career
Bargos won a game of sabacc and earned an oridium mining operation located on Cavos, a small planet just Coreward of Hutt Space. Bargos hired a group of explorers to go to the mine and assess its worth. The previous owner assured him the mines still contained tons of oridium, and while this was technically true, the remaining ore is widely scattered and deeply buried. As such the mines are not as productive as they outwardly appear. This was not the Bargos only problem, he was short of funds, and owed 250,000 credits to a fellow Hutt. He had also fallen behind on providing adequate payment to members of his own entourage. His employees including a large cohort of Camorrean thugs, a number of whom had become violently dissatisfied at Bargos's inability to pay their wages. Indeed, just as Bargos had hired the group and was explaining the matter to them, a group of Gammorean thugs whom Bargos owed money to, attacked his mansion but were thwarted by the group of explorers including a Zeltron, a human and a Dashade.
Secondly, a full-scale rebellion was building within the mine. Many of the droids in the mine had been neglected and misused, and rose up against the sentients who worked alongside them. The leaders of this droid rebellion planned to take their message of violent revolt and spread it through the galaxy. With the help of the group of explorers and a Jedi Knight, the droid rebellion was thwarted and the miners and the mines themselves were saved from certain destruction.
Current Activities
Upon learning that he had been cheated and the mines were not as profitable as he had been led to believe, Bargos seized the opportunity to convert the legitimate mines into a smugglers den, a base of operations from which he could conduct the shadier side of his dealings, while using the mines as a front. Bargos pumped a considerable amount of credits into the facility, in the hopes that his investment will pay off. The foreman of the miners, a man by the name of Marv Moray now runs the operation on Cavos and Bargos is quickly seeing his financial situation improving.
Personality
Bargos The Hutt is fairly new to the Cartel, he is young and inexperienced. His relaxed attitude earlier on in his career almost got him killed and left him permanently scared for life. Since then he is much more careful about who he conducts business with, he hardly ever leaves the safety of his mansion and surrounds himself with loyal servants and bodyguards. Though he is not particularly cruel and is true to his word, recent events have left him angry and paranoid. He rewards loyalty generously but is equally quick to punish those who betray him. He does not take rejection lightly, those who refuse his business offers have a tendency to end up dead or worse, as such his reputation as a gangster and a formidable foe increases by the day. He is on good terms with Queen Jools but this is more of a loose alliance than a friendship.
Obsession: Gambling
As is the case with all Hutts, Bargos is ruled by greed. His own empire is much smaller than many of his competitors and he seeks to grow it swiftly and establish himself firmly within the Hutt Cartel. He is also susceptible to compliments and gestures of good will... therefore he can be bribed, flattered and persuaded to gamble.
