Appearance
Kitty is tall and slender of build, though healthy - having the figure of a Victoria's Secret model who works out fairly regularly. Her pretty face is framed by her dark, medium-length hair which highlights her blue-grey eyes. She wears a pair of stylish Chanel glasses patterened after the Egyptian Mau which tints in the daylight, and a thin golden necklace with a golden Eye of Ra pendant. She has no specific signature clothing, but most commonly can be found wearing pencil skirts, blouses and jackets of known (usually Parisian) fashion houses, especially Chanel or Dior; or sharp dresses when more formal attire is required. Whilst she speaks excellent English (and various other languages), her sweet-sounding voice always seems to have a slight french accent and, some have said, a slight purr to it. She has a small cartoon-like Kitty tattoo on her left shoulder.
Background
When Bastet spent time as a spy in France during the German occupation, she found she liked it and returned occasionally. On one such occasion she met Pierre Collard and eventually bore him a daughter; and a son a few years later. Kitty's mother left them when she was eight years old (Kitty believes for another man) and she became close to her father and brother; although he drifted away from her father during this time, making Kitty a form of middle-person between them. Her father gave her a camera for her birthday when she was twelve, and she fell in love with it. His death in a plane crash a few months later hit her hard. She lived with her grandparents after that, but this time was when she started becoming tough and independent - and her brother started becoming good at "acquiring" things, often getting Kitty involved in his "adventures."
She studied photography in college and sometimes went to the park to poach squirrel hair for income as she couldn't afford the supplies. In the end she had to drop out of college and found work in "La Liberte" as a freelance photo-journalist. She enjoyed the job as she loved investigating things (especially cases of corruption or scandals) and bringing the truth (and justice) to light. It was shortly after her first big exposé that her mother approached her and her brother with the truth of their heritage. Since then Kitty uses her job as excuse to travel - to learn about her divine heritage, to do her mother's work, and to come up with great articles; whilst her brother also travels but uses his divine skills for other means - although often they find their needs coinciding and they make a highly effective team. She is highly respected as a journalist and writes a column on La Liberte's online edition, as well as the occasional article or documentary (usually an exposé). She prefers to work independently (so she can run fast if she needs to) and often uses false personas using fake IDs provided by her underground contacts. She has generally tried to avoid getting involved in more than the fringes of the Titanwar - but is realising that now that the Titans are free NOT getting involved is irresponsible. Besides... don't people have a right to know what's REALLY going on...?
Divine Relations
Kitty has a younger brother, Michael, who she is close to. He resides in Los Angeles and enjoys a jet-setting playboy lifestyle, but secretly works as a master cat burglar at nights - usually for his own ends, but sometimes to aid Kitty or to further their mother's goals. Michael is gifted with prophecy, and Kitty seeks his advice from time to time - or Michael calls on Kitty when he has a prophecy that she is affected by or may be interested in.
Personality
Kitty is obsessive about secrets. Whilst she accepts that some secrets are better left secret, the whiff or a hint of one is enough to set her off investigating it. She is epic-charismatic, and epic-attractive and uses this to her benefit - although not in a malicious way. It has been likened to "a cat being cute to get you to play with it until it's done and moves off" and her Knacks entice others to approach her and make it easy for her to get others to trust her, and blend into social situations with ease. She is almost always friendly, although streetwise, forthright and sarcastic, and not bashful in the least. She's been known to have a bit of a short temper but she's on the side in finding the truth to thwart corruption and make a stand for the little guy.
Powers
Kitty is in good physical shape, although only her dexterity is epic-level, although high. She is also highly Epic-Charismatic, Perceptive, and Wits, and to a lesser degree epic-Intelligent and Attractive. Her related Knacks relate to being able to deduce or perceive things, or agility.
Kitty has access to the Animal (Cat), Sun, Justice, Prophecy and Heku purviews, and is particularly known for her able to communicate with and control cats (which she often employs as spies).
Combat Style
For someone that generally would try to avoid combat, and spends most of her time in social/investigative actions, Kitty surprises would-be assailants by being both epic-dextrous and epic-wits. She therefore relies on her quick reactions, and quick strike in combat, often with hit-and-run methods, using her high athleticism to good effect. Her primary weapons are cat-claw gloves, which she uses to slash opponent. She is more likely to flee, than fight, however.
Social Style
Kitty is easy to get along with - especially if you have a sense of humour. She loves stories, mysteries and tales as well as well-meant jokes and ribs, especially sarcasm. But she dislikes dishonesty and if she realises people are lying/being dishonest, it's likely to set her off and want to discover what they're hiding. Being forthright, friendly, and humorously-sarcastic are the second-best way to get her on your side. The best way, however, is to dangle a ball of string in front of her. Whether told about an honest mystery, or deceptively implied, this will almost certainly always peak her interest.
