Biography

Origins

Carth Onasi.png

Diego Onasi is the great grandson of Admiral Carth Onasi a great hero of the Old Republic, who once fought along side Revan to save the Republic and then helped to rebuild his home planet of Telos after Revan's mysterious disappearance. It was rumored that Admiral Carth Onasi himself might have been force sensitive; whether he was or not, no one knows. What is known is that the Admiral's son Dustil, Diego's grandfather, was force sensitive and during the Jedi Civil War he had been abducted and trained as a Dark Jedi at the Sith Academy on Korriban. Dustil was saved by his father, aided by Revan and the Force tradition in the family continued from that time on, although non ever joined the Jedi. Diego was the first in his family line considered strong enough in the force to be trained as a Jedi... or with any interest to.

Education

Diego did not begin life as a Jedi, in his youth he showed a remarkable affinity to the force, although his main interest was the study of his family lineage and Republic History. He heard the stories of his great grandfather and idolised the man as a hero of the Republic and not the cult icon he became after his death. As soon as he was old enough, Diego joined the Republic Military and trained as a scout. The role suited him perfectly, travelling the fringes of space and free to continue with his studies in private.

He didn't realise it at first, but the more he studied, the greater his connection to the force became until one night he began having visions of Revan. The visions were re-occuring, night after night after night, he had the same visions; but he couldn't understand what they meant. What he saw was Revan as an older man, which did not relate to anything he could find in the history books. Finally he decided that the only people who could help him find answers were the Jedi. Diego resigned from the Republic military and went to meet with the Jedi Council on Coruscant.

Revan and malak.jpg

Diego found the Jedi Council pompous and arrogant, so self assured and righteous that they had become blinded by their own misguidedness... He wondered how they had defeated the Sith, then the thought came to him... no not the Council; Revan and Malak had defied the council and gone to war against the Mandalorians, they saved the Republic but returned as conquerors. Later on the Jedi Council wiped Revans memories but it was Bastila Shan and his great grandfather Carth Onasi who had helped him save the galaxy from the Sith Empire!

Never the less, the Jedi were the only ones who could help him and so he stayed calm and pushed the thought to the furthest reaches of his mind. Finally the Jedi Council agreed to train him and he was taken on as a Padawan by Master Ngani Zho. Diego spent the best years of his life studying the Jedi Archives. The dreams only became more intense, but he still would could not find the answers he was searching for.

Career

Diego held on to his military training and practiced it in addition to his Jedi training and his personal studies. He became one of the few Jedi who was as proficient with a blaster as he was with a Light saber, much to the disapproval of the council. Diego rose quickly through the ranks of Padawan, Knight and Master. He was honoured many times by the Republic and by the Jedi, he was even offered a seat on the council. He declined the councils offer on the grounds that it would take him away from his studies of the force and his work as a Jedi Consular.

After the sacking of Coruscant Diego played a key role in the relocation of the Jedi Order to Tython. Once again the Jedi order offered him a seat on the council, by rights he could have been a Grand Master, but recent events only made him more desperate to find answers. Worse still was that as his visions became more intense, griping him like he was locked in a force choke, almost strong enough to suffocate him at times, he knew that something terrible was about to happen. This was no longer about his personal quest for information, but now a matter of Galactic importance. Diego set off from Tython, leaving the Order to rebuild itself.

Current Activities

Diego has remained in contact with the Order and recently there have been troubling revelations.. incidents which could hold the answers Diego so desperately seeks. He has come to believe that his visions have been warning him of something, something which he must now find proof of to convince the council that a threat to the whole galaxy lurks in the shadows!

Personality

SateleShanLightsaber-Hope.png

The Jedi Council would describe Diego as rash, insolent and obsessed with the past. If that were so, they would not have offered him a seat on the Council twice! In fact Diego has learned to master control over his emotions, possibly more so than any other master, more so even Grand Master Satele Shan the descendant of the legendary Bastila Shan and Revan. He is intelligent and serene, he is ever loyal to the Republic and will not be swayed from his convictions. He enters no decision lightly without due thought to cause and consequence. He is master of the force and his surroundings, unlike other Jedi he studies tradition and believes it has its place but he is not bound by it.

Combat Style

Diego carriers a blaster pistol of Arkanian design, an improvement on the one carried by his great grandfather. He uses it as an effective tool to confuse his enemies who naturally assume he will immediately reach for his light saber. He also utilises his Force powers with varying effects, this gives him greater flexibility and makes him unpredictable in combat. Like all good Jedi, he has constructed his own light saber. Although his is of the traditional one handed configuration with a green glow, the blade is encompassed by a silver shimmer which makes the green colour bolder while appearing brighter at the same time.

Social Style

Diego has always been somewhat of a loner. As a child he was fascinated by his lineage and Galactic history, while other children were outside playing he was often at the library. He was always pleasant and polite and so well liked by those who did get to know him; it wasn't that he intentionally separated himself from the outside world, but what chance did he have to make friends if no one shared his passion? In the military he always got on well with his superiors and his colleagues, but as a scout on the fringes of space he felt right at home. He is as wise and kind, as he is patient and diligent.

Obligations

Oath and Obsession

Diego swore an Oath to the Republic and to the Jedi. He serves both, he believes in both and he holds his oath sacred. Everything he has done over the last few years he has done to protect the Republic and the Galaxy. He believes in it so strongly that his behaviour hinges on obsessive.
