Appearance
Dani is described as "voluptuous" by most. Her skin is a light pink colour and her hair a deep blue - both common for her race. Her eyes are blue like sapphires and she usually dyes a streak of her hair red and wears perfectly-applied make-up like it were essential combat gear (which, if you ask her, it is). She is in excellent physical shape due to an energetic lifestyle and regular exercise, and her Kamperdine custom-tailored armoured jacket accentuates her sensuous curves to full effect, as well as offering excellent protection.
Biography
Origins
Dani's family worked as entertainers in the clubs and casinos in Zeltros' capital city, and so she grew up to a fairly comfortable life. They weren't wealthy, but they led comfortable lives. And whilst Dani enjoyed dancing and the social life, she inherited the desire for exploration of her ancestor, Arthurius, and so signed up with the Czerka Corporation who took advantage of Dani's social acumen to emply her as a trader in the Outer Rim territories. When not out trading for Czerka, Dani would join her family as an entertainer, which she enjoys as a hobby of sorts.
Education
Dani received a standard Zeltros high school education, and graduated from the University of Zeltros with a degree in Business, with modules on Core World and Outer Rim economics. Her family also home-taught her dance and performance skills, and she often employs these skills to her advantage when negotiating.
The Czerka Corporation also gave her some combat training so that she could defend herself if trouble occurred whilst on jobs. Dani can hold her own in unarmed or melee combat, and her sharpshooting skills surprise most.
Career
Dani was quite content working for Czerka as a trader in the Outer Rim, and when in-between jobs joining her family as a performer on the Zeltros casino circuit - until a deal on Nar Shadaa went sour and Dani was the only member of the Czerka team to walk out alive. She quickly discovered that one of the main reasons why Czerka enjoyed her employment was because she was a deniable and expendable asset, and she was suddenly very expended and denied.
Always the optimist and armed with a variety of abilities, Dani managed to get employment as a performer at the Paradise lounge owned by Queen Jools the Hutt, but Jools quickly realised that Dani had more potential and business savvy than the average dancer, and in short time Dani had become the head hostess for the Paradise lounge, and one of Jools' favoured. Whilst Dani was content at the Paradise, the bug to travel was ever-present and when she met June Starkiller, a young pilot with a newly-acquired exploration ship "Slave's Hope," took advantage to head back out into the stars with her. She has maintained links with Queen Jools, who she is very grateful towards - and frequently carries out jobs for her. Whilst both consider Dani's obligation to Jools to have been settled, Dani will always consider Jools a patron who supported her during a tough time, and would drop most things to help her.
Golden Years
In what Dani would describe as her golden years, she travelled happily with June aboard the Slave's Hope. It would be hard to specifically describe Dani's role on the ship, as it changed depending on who you asked, and when you asked. Her official title was the ship's Astrogator, but in their combined enterprise she took the role of Chief Financial Officer (she enjoys that title, but in fact she's the only financial officer on the ship) and handled all of the ship's business and financial concerns. Whilst she always stated that June was "the boss" and ship owner, the reality is that they worked like a partnership - Dani was more knowledgeable in business and trading, and it was rare that June disagreed with Dani's "recommendations." As such she had a more important role on the ship than she appeared to, as to most she would merely appear to have been the ship's hostess and entertainer.
After careful business dealings, investments (and some shady dealings) Dani managed to achieve one of her dreams and opened up the Nova Club on Alderaan. Situated close to the spaceport, so as to try to attract fellow spacers, the club runs as a restaurant during the daytime and a nightlub at nights. Dani managed to convince her friend Jerek Tel to move to Alderaan and run the club for her (she acknowledges he has more experience with day-to-day running of these kind of places, and it allows her to be able to continue travelling independently).
Force Sensitive
All Zeltros are empathic and not unlike Jedi Force powers to Sense (it is believed the empathy is a latent species Force talent). As such for most of her like Dani was unaware that she was Force sensitive - but ever since Taris a few months back had began suspecting that her ability to sense emotions and influence others extended beyond her species' abilities and rather considerable social skills. She spent some time getting advice from Jedi Master Diego Onasi, and in time confirmed that she was indeed Force-sensitive. Afraid that the Jedi would try to drag her off into "their monastery of boredom and celibacy" to be trained, she hid this revelation from her Jedi ally on the Slave's Hope, whilst spending time training with Master Onasi. Thanks to this, she has learnt to focus her Force talents and become quite adept at Sensing and Influencing others using the Force... She has no real understanding (or desire to understand) the concept of Light/Dark side of the force beyond Light=good, Dark=bad - and tries to use her talents to the benefit of her friends or betterment of the situation... although this may be in ways that Jedi's may approve of. She recently used her Influence ability to command a Hutt guard to shoot another guard, which would have been considered a Dark use of her power - but to her mind it was no different to using her blaster to shoot the guard or a Jedi smashing a giant display screen into a guard. She doesn't understand the finer points - but tries to use her powers generally to avoid violence when possible, such as using her Influence to make another guard momentarily open a security door in the belief he had heard something, allowing Dani and her allies to sneak out and avoid combat.
The "outing" of her Force powers to her Jedi companions, and the seeming lack of hostile reaction emboldened her to be more open with, and explore her abilities with them. As such she has grown closer to her Jedi companions and Master Onasi and become stronger in the Force, manifesting additional abilities such as the ability to Foresee the future and use the Force to Heal others.
The End is a New Beginning
As Dani spent more time with the Jedi, events (not directly related to the Jedi) led to repeated involvement with Jedi-related situation, such as fighting Leviathans or rescuing their Mandalorian allies from the Sith. Dani gradually became aware that whether she wanted it or not, it appeared that fate was determined to get her involved in Force-related issues, and her own increasing abilities (and awareness of how tempting using it for "wrong" reasons - ie the lure of the Dark side) made her realise that she couldn't just galavant around the galaxy with June, who in turn needed more normalcy than the strangeness of their recent lives. As such Dani and June mutually agreed to break their relationship - both romantically and business-wise. This would free June to return to what she loved and was good at - smuggling; and Dani could concentrate on understanding her growing powers and the Force.
Dissolving their business operation together, Dani returned to her Nova Club on Alderaan to contemplate the future, and after a heart-felt and seriously inebriated discussion with Jerek, ended up spending almost every credit she had saved up to purchase a second-hand Sorosuub S-890 Luxury Personal Yacht which she rechristened the Destiny Ascendant.
Dani approached her travelling companions and informed them of her break-up with June, and offered them the opportunity to join with her together on her ship, which she bought as a commitment to help her Jedi allies with their duties, whilst she would learn the ways of the Force from them. With their expertise help in computing, engineering and gunnery, Dani took the Destiny Ascendant to Corellia and at the Corellian Engineering Corporation shipyards had the Destiny's Hyperdrive, weapons systems and droid pilot seriously upgraded.
With the ship updates complete, new adventures await...
Personality
Dani has a lively, bubbly personality and is almost always cheerful, and constantly trying to cheer up everyone. As her race are empathic, she states she dislikes others having "negative emotions" around her as they dampen her mood. She is naturally flirty and enjoys using her charms and physical allure both for her own enternainment and to liven others. She values friendships and honestly, and dislikes sadists, bullies and combat. She loves to party and to explore in equal measures - although when both opportunities present themselves will tend to party first, stating "we can go exploring tomorrow... but the party is now!"
Other Notes
Dani was given the nickname "Blue" by Jools as a reference to her blue hair and eyes, and it has stuck. Dani is quite fond of the name, but only allows her friends or those she likes to call her that. Her telling someone to call her Blue is a sign of friendship.
Combat Style
Dani dislikes combat, seeing it as a source of negative emotions which leads to little good - and she is naturally flighty and flirty... so it often surprises people how competent she is in a fight. She is in excellent physical shape due to her dancing training and energetic lifestyle and can move around a battlefield quicker than others would expect, using her acrobatic skills to good effect. Whilst she can hold her own in unarmed or melee, she is a good shot and prefers to keep to a distance and put her shooting skills to good effect. She's a good shot, but no tactical genius - and often relies on others' orders. If not given any, she usually takes a role of defending her friends/allies in combat, and likes to coordinate with others to fire for effect.
Since discovering she is Force-sensitive, Dani has been learning to use the Force to aid her in combat. She has realised that most of her Force abilities if used in combat are susceptible to Dark side conflict and is keen to learn about other ways to aid her allies. For now, she relies on using her Sense powers to give her a defensive edge, and her newly-learnt Heal power to heal allies that have been hurt.
Whilst she prefers ranged combat, if pressed into melee, or fighting a foe immune to her heavy blaster, Dani is likely to switch to her light whip, a gift from Jiadzia, with which she has been training hard in the Makashi Duelist style ever since by random chance she bought a holocron that taught her the basics of the technique.
Social Style
Dani is empathic and naturally good at reading others, therefore she dislikes people who lie to her or harbour ill intent. She believes in being a team worker and supporting her friends, so those who work with her, communicate intent and show respect will get along well with her. Those who seem to do their own thing with little regard to Dani or June's situation quickly find themselves getting Dani's dislike. Not that they'd ever know it, as Dani would always be friendly and amiable, but Dani would not go out of her way or put herself at risk for those she dislikes (like she would for her friends).
Dani is a social animal. When not doing a job she can be found in the local cantina dancing and drinking. It is rare Dani actually has to buy her own drinks, as she regularly gets drinks bought for her and some barmen give her a free tab because they know her antics invariably attract clientelle.
Obligations
Philanderer
Dani has no shortage of scorned lovers still furious over her never committing. Former flames have a habit of showing up at the worst moment, or causing delays when the chrono is ticking. The worst is when two or more flings team up to make life miserable for her, or when spouses find out and decide Dani is deserving of punishment. Some turn up at totally inopportune times to try to win her love back. Nothing is off limits, as all is fair in love and war.
Obsession: Partying
Whilst Dani loves travelling, meeting new people and going to new places - she's still a Zeltros party girl at heart and loves little more than to dance the night away and have far too many drinks. Exploring can normally wait one more day... but that awesome party is now!
