Appearance
Cassandra is an attractive young woman that naturally has dark blonde hair and striking blue eyes. She is above-average height and usually wears casual and comfortable clothing, favouring jeans or denim shorts and loose shirts or blouses. Cassandra has the ability to modify aspects of her own appearance, however, as well as create her own clothing (and armour) through a process of manipulating her Ichor; and as such it is not uncommon to see her on occasion go through phases where her hair is modified to be near-black (or other colour), and wearing clothing more fashionable when she thinks it may be more appropriate (or may simply "be in the mood" - when this surprises others she is quick to point out that she does occasionally feel the desire to "look pretty"). Although she tends to dress simply more often than glamorously, she has inherited her father's sense of aesthetics and as such most of what she wears is often described as "practical, but visually appealing."
Background
Raised by a single mother who was an archaologist, Cassie spent large parts of her youth accompanying mom around the globe on archaeological digs. She learnt a variety of both practical and academic skills during her travels. Cassie didn't have a "normal" school life until high school when her mother placed her in "the Athenian School" a mixed-gender boarding school in Danville, California, and then later went on get a degree and masters at the school of Applied Engineering at UCLA. It was here she first met her divine father, who during a "quiet period in the Overworld" was a popular but absent-minded Engineering professor at the University.
Since her graduation they have met several times, though not as often as he claims he would like due to the Overworld War keeping him busy manufacturing for the war effort. Still, he occasionally turns up when she least expects it, has helped guide her educational progress, usually bearing a gift that he has made/obtained for her that helps her in learning or applying her knowledge. Even when he is not able to visit, he occasionally sends his wife Aglaia, or another of his children to aid her, educate her, or give her instructions he needs carried out.
At university she had the misfortune to encounter Victor Fingers, son of Ares (and thought he was a total dick). She thinks he's a jarhead daddy-pleaser whilst Cassie prefers to outthink a situation rather than fight. Victor seems keen to "take her on" as their parents are rivals, but she's managed to avoid this so far. Still... she's pretty sure a throwdown is inevitable in the near future.
A few years after her graduation, Cassie was told that she had a now-14 year old step-sister named Thalia that also resided in Los Angeles. Born from a union of her divine father's wife, Algaia, and a mortal, the girl was not yet aware of her scion heritage and Cassie was asked by Hephaestus and Aglaia to look after Thalia. Like their divine parents, both girls shared a mutual love for created arts and both being raised as single children found themselves enjoying suddenly having a sister, and in the years since have become close. Cassie is more intellectually-oriented, and has helped guide Thalia educationally and physically, whilst Thalia has helped Cassie learn to be a more social and affectionate person.
Birthrights
As her divine father is the god of the forge, Cassie is fortunate that her father is able to access and supply her with birthrights that he has created previously in history, or has custom-created specifically for her. Her Aegis Vambraces may not have the fame of an ancient relic such as the Armour of Achilles, but are no less effective.
- Obsidian Necklace: An elegant 24-carat gold necklace adorned with diamond-polish obsidian stones, and with a large obsidian at it's center. This necklace allows Cassie to access the Earth and Fire purviews.
- Kassandra's Secret: This birthright was a thank-you gift from Aglaia, Hephaestus' second wife (and Cassie's step-mother) for looking after Thalia. This sexy, one-piece lingerie teddy enhances aspects of Cassie's epic appearance knacks.
- Dingbot: One of Hephaestus' Golden Servants, this takes the form of a six-inch-wide golden disc when not in use. When activated, it sprouts three tentacle-like legs that support it and permit it to move about. In this form, the servant appears to be a four-foot-tall golden tripod with an additional dozen thin tentacles, each tipped with some type of common tool such as a screwdriver, hammer or welding torch. They are fairly unintelligent and have the personality of a loyal and affectionate dog… that happens to be an expert mechanic that can completely disassemble an automobile within about half an hour.
- Goggles of the Master Artisan: These steampunk-style goggles allow Cassie to access the Forge Purview and enable her to see perfectly in dim light and through visual impairments such as fog and smoke (in addition to being functional sunglasses). Bringing down the magnifying lenses also enables her to see things at a microscopic level.
- Relic Weapons: Whilst Hephaestus values Cassie's intellectual achievements the most, he acknowledges the risks she will face due to the Overworld war and has manufactured some relic items to help protect her....
- - The Silent Armour: This set of grecian-style gold pauldrons and vambraces were created using a piece of the Aegis and augment some of Cassie's Epic Stamina Knacks. They can be made to appear like ordinary (if elegant) jewelry.
- - Μπαλτάς (Baltás): This Labrys is said to be so sharp it could carve electrons off an atom. It has a birthright connection to a pink leather fob key-ring that allows Cassie to summon Baltás to her hand when needed.
